Introduction to the UK regulatory environment
This course explains the structure of the UK regulatory environment, which is made up of a number of inter-dependent strands, namely, The Financial Services Authority (FSA), the Treasury and the European Union.
The Financial Services Authority (FSA), established under the Financial Services and Markets Act (FSMA) in 2001, regulates all financial services businesses in the UK. It is a regulatory requirement that Directors, Senior Management and staff in regulated firms understand the role of the FSA and its approach to regulating the financial sector.
